VTT

Multi-energy and multi-market energy system optimisation

Predicer (Predictive Decider) is a modeling tool for optimizing energy production and market participation. It is designed to manage the complexities of modern energy portfolios, specifically focusing on the simultaneous allocation of assets across electricity spot and reserve markets.

Main benefit

Optimisation of energy production and market participation across electricity spot and reserve markets.

Area of implementation

Danish pilot

Fields / industries

Energy industry, portfolio management

VTT

SiteOpt

Local energy optimization

The SiteOpt tool analyses future options of integrated energy systems in a local site with several energy vectors and several actors. The tool can represent different kinds of energy networks (e.g., power grid, heating and cooling grids, gas grids). It can perform optimal dimensioning of the system, reducing investment and operational costs as well as CO2 emissions.

Main benefit

Supports the planning and optimization of existing energy systems when integrating new technologies, users or grids — reducing installation and integration costs.

Area of implementation

Norwegian pilot

Fields / industries

Electricity consumers, local energy producers

CORE

An end-to-end predictive maintenance platform

COREbeat is a solution that turns real-time data into predictive insights, identifying early signs of equipment failure before they impact operations. The system provides visualization and alerts to support maintenance planning and improve equipment reliability.

Main benefit

Product monitoring and predictive maintenance that improve operations and equipment reliability.

Area of implementation

Danish pilot

Fields / industries

Industrial plant operations, energy industries

NORCE

ERiSS

Energy Risk: Security of Supply (formerly ERMSS)

ERiSS is a software for assessing an energy system's ability to meet required demand in the event of disruptive risk scenarios. The tool uses stochastic uncertainty modelling to simulate energy flow, demand and failure scenarios, and their possible impact on end users — useful in the planning stages of projects for risk assessment and dimensioning of contingency measures.

Main benefit

Scenario planning and risk analysis that support reliability assessment and contingency planning.

Area of implementation

Norwegian pilot

Fields / industries

Risk assessment

Electricity Maps

Electricity Maps API

Real-time and forecasted carbon intensity data

The Electricity Maps API provides real-time, historical, and forecasted carbon intensity and electricity mix data for 190+ countries and regions worldwide. It enables businesses and developers to understand the carbon footprint of electricity consumption at any given time and location, and to make data-driven decisions that reduce emissions from electricity use.

Main benefit

Forecasting and real-time automation that support forward-looking operational planning.
